Doo Wop: The Harmony Years
It was a time for Sock Hops, Diners and Drive-In Movies during the mid 50's to the early 60's. You would see neighborhood groups
standing under a streetlamp harmonizing on inner city corners singing accapella Doo Wop songs. Many of these groups had dreams of getting a record contract or singing just for their own enjoyment while learning to sing harmony during those years. Phil Bruschi brings you a musical biography program that came from his Doo Wop CD recorded a few years back where he sang each harmony part himself. Join Phil as he discusses a brief history of Doo Wop and the story behind each song and artist such as, The Five Satins, Lee Andrews & The Hearts, The Capris, The Platters, Dion & The Belmonts and more. |
